Marriott and Ventive Hospitality to Add Six New Hotels in India with 1600 Rooms
Marriott and Ventive Hospitality, in collaboration with Marriott International, are set to introduce six new hotels in India over the next five years. The properties will be located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh; Mundra, Gujarat; Pune, and Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, adding a total of 1600 rooms to Marriott's presence in the country.
The expansion is part of Marriott's strategy to increase its hotel management business in India. Currently, Marriott operates 142 hotels in India, managing over 25,500 rooms and has an additional 16 properties of ITC Hotels in its portfolio.
The new hotels will be developed under a partnership model with Panchshil Group, the promoters of Ventive. This partnership aims to redefine India's hospitality sector and marks a significant milestone in the two-decade-long collaboration between Marriott and Ventive Hospitality.
Ventive, which presently owns 11 hotels across India and the Maldives, is also developing a Ritz-Carlton Reserve property in Pottuvil, Sri Lanka, further expanding its footprint in the region.
The expansion in India's hotel sector is a reflection of the growing demand for branded hotel rooms, with the industry expected to reach 300,000 rooms by 2030. The investment in new hotels is projected to enhance the company's annual earnings and contribute to the overall growth of India's hospitality sector.
