Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lambasted previous governments for neglecting the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, attributing the state's previous reputation for riots and mafia to their failures. Adityanath criticized the promotion of caste-based conflicts, which hindered the growth of MSMEs in the state, claiming that his government has successfully revitalized local entrepreneurship through initiatives like the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme. At an event in Lucknow on International MSME Day, the CM highlighted the government's efforts to support entrepreneurship and restore pride in the state's heritage.
The CM also launched the 'Youth Adda', an initiative by UPICON to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth. Additionally, he unveiled the CM Yuva mobile app, a digital platform connecting young entrepreneurs with opportunities and resources. Adityanath emphasized that his government does not discriminate based on caste or region, providing equal opportunities for talented youth.
Adityanath underscored the state's economic progress, with a significant increase in exports and GDP growth attributed to improved law and order and policies supporting entrepreneurship. He announced the upcoming International Trade Show in Greater Noida, aiming to showcase MSME products globally and boost economic growth. The CM highlighted initiatives to secure Geographical Indication (GI) tags for the state's unique products, aiming to protect cultural heritage and promote local industries.
