Operation Sindoor: India Strikes Terror Camps

In a strategic operation lasting 25 minutes, India carried out its most extensive cross-border strikes since Balakot. Code-named Operation Sindoor, the strikes involved air, naval, and ground-based assets targeting nine terror facilities in Pakistan and PoK. The strikes were in response to a recent terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 civilians.

More than 80 terrorists linked to outfits like JeM, LeT, and Hizbul Mujahideen were eliminated in the precision strikes. The targets were selected based on credible intel, ensuring only terror hideouts were targeted.

Key Points of Operation Sindoor:

  • 26 civilians killed in missile strikes by India.
  • Military action was measured and non-escalatory.
  • Air, Army, and Navy assets used in the strikes.
  • Major strikes conducted in JeM stronghold Bahawalpur and Muridke.

The Indian government emphasized the restrained nature of the operation, focusing on high-value terrorist targets while avoiding civilian casualties.

Following the strikes, Pakistan resorted to heavy cross-border shelling, prompting India to respond in kind. The situation remains tense, with efforts to evacuate civilians from border villages underway.
