The Mahagathbandhan in Bihar criticizes the Election Commission's move to conduct special revision of electoral rolls, calling it undemocratic and a threat to citizenship rights of the poor and oppressed.

The Mahagathbandhan, also known as the Grand Alliance, in Bihar has strongly criticized the Election Commission of India's decision to conduct a special revision of electoral rolls in the state. The opposition coalition has alleged that this move is undemocratic and could disenfranchise millions of Bihar voters. The Grand Alliance partners raised concerns about the short time frame given for the exercise, questioning the feasibility of conducting house-to-house verification of around eight crore voters within 25 days. They see this as a deliberate attempt to target certain sections of the population, especially the poor and marginalized. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have also been accused of having a hand in this move. The opposition leaders are planning to meet with Election Commission officials to protest against the impracticality of the exercise and demand better transparency and accountability. The Grand Alliance is adamant that they will not accept this revision exercise at any cost.
