Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh Backs RSS on Secularism Debate
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh supported RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale's statement regarding the inclusion of 'secular' and 'socialist' in the constitution's preamble. Singh highlighted that these words were added through the 42nd amendment and were not part of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's original vision.
When asked about Hosabale's suggestion to remove the terms from the preamble, Singh stated, 'Any right-thinking citizen will endorse it as it was not part of the original constitution drafted by Dr. Ambedkar.' He emphasized the importance of preserving democratic and constitutional values.
Taking a veiled dig at Congress leaders, Singh remarked, 'Those flaunting the constitution book are actually the biggest violators of the constitution.'
