Nikita was sleeping peacefully at home when her immediate family members were swept away by the force of nature during the early hours of the morning, leaving her untouched and unaware of the tragedy that unfolded.

Brave neighbors from higher ground discovered Nikita alone and unharmed, shedding light on the miraculous survival story that has touched many hearts. Despite offers for adoption, Nikita's paternal aunt, Tara Devi, who is now caring for the child, has vowed to raise her herself.

Search and rescue operations are underway in Mandi, as drone technology and sniffer dogs are deployed to locate missing individuals in the aftermath of the calamity.
