Congress Removes Controversial Poster Targeting PM Modi

The Congress party took down a controversial headless poster targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi from its official social media handle following an internal dispute. The move came after the BJP criticized Congress for the post, accusing it of echoing Pakistan's narrative in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources revealed that Congress social media head Supriya Shrinat was asked to delete the post and received a reprimand from the party leadership for allowing content that deviated from the party's line. The top leadership of the Congress party expressed displeasure with the media department, concerned that the post portrayed the party in a negative light.

Congress Takes a Swipe at PM Modi

The Congress party posted an image with the word 'Gayab' to question the Prime Minister's absence from the all-party meeting over the Pahalgam terror attack. While the post did not directly name PM Modi, the caption referenced his non-attendance, stating, 'disappears at the time of responsibility.'

Congress has been raising concerns about the Prime Minister skipping the meeting convened to brief leaders on the attack. In response, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia condemned the Congress post and accused the party of aligning with enemy narratives.

BJP Criticizes Congress

Bhatia criticized the Congress for becoming a platform for 'Mir Jafar's supporters' and alleged that such posts were made at Rahul Gandhi's behest, bringing shame to the nation. He further accused Congress of attempting to weaken the country during a sensitive time, noting that the party's ideology resembled that of extremist groups.

Earlier, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh questioned PM Modi's priorities, highlighting his decision to address a rally in Bihar instead of attending the all-party meeting. Ramesh raised concerns about the Prime Minister's commitment to important meetings amid his election campaign engagements.
