Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel suffered an injury during an IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Despite the injury, he managed to score 43 runs off 23 balls.

Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel recently disclosed the extent of the injury he sustained during the IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders. The left-arm all-rounder injured his finger while fielding and found it challenging to bat due to the pain. However, he still scored 43 runs off 23 balls. Axar decided to take on the bowlers and attempted to hit boundaries to keep the scoreboard ticking in the 205-run chase. Unfortunately, his team lost the match by 14 runs.

In the 18th over of the innings, Rovman Powell hit a forceful shot towards mid-wicket. Axar made a diving stop to prevent a single but injured his finger in the process. The physio quickly assessed him, and Axar left the field promptly for further medical treatment.

Axar led his team from the front and batted despite the pain, smashing 4 fours and 3 sixes. Post-match, he shared details of his injury, expressing hope for a quick recovery to be ready for the next game.

Discussing the match, Axar mentioned that they gave away 15-20 runs extra due to bowlers failing to execute their plans in the powerplay and leaking runs. Axar blamed soft dismissals for the defeat against KKR, stating that losing wickets in a soft manner hindered their chase despite coming close to the target.

When asked about Vipra j Nigam's quick 38 runs off 19 balls giving them hope towards the end, Axar admitted there was some hope but emphasized the need for support from players like Ashutosh to close out games successfully.
